Is this pointless?
I have a h/c setup, and still running on the stock exhaust.... I just purchased some headers, and about to buy an off-road x-pipe, ... would it be stupid to put the headers and x-pipe on my stock catback???? or are you just talking like a 10hp difference? I plan on getting the electric cutouts for the x-pipe in the future... but I just depleted the funds with the h/c package... so I'm a little slow on forking up some cash :-P

x pipe on a stock cat back...i thought x pipes were for duals...
if i were you, especially with your set up...install the headers, go with dual exhaust with the x pipe...and some nice mufflers..itll free up a lot more HP...and youll love the sound...

With the cut-outs I would definitely leave the stock exhaust. It would make for a real nice sleeper. You make sacrifice some hp compared to a cat-back, but open up the cutouts when you wanna get it all back and then some.

I agree, that would give you the best of both worlds.....the sneakup and then beat your *** setup!! The Vettes have good flowing factory catback on them and wake up alot with headers...you should be fine.
