Default Is this too much for labor on TD install??

OK guys I got a quote for labor of 250$ to have my dumped TD installed. This seems a little high to me. Here ae the part I already have: 3" to 2.5" inch 3 bolt flange header reducers, Flowtech 2.5" x-pipe, and 2 18" sweet thunder chambered mufflers I am driving the car in to the shop with an open Y-pipe so all they need to do is unbolt the y-pipe and get started. Their shop rate is 60$ per hour. Seems to me it should only take 3hrs max. How long do you think it should take to fabb this up?

i'd put it up on jackstands and do it myself before i'd pay anywhere near 250 bucks.if you have a friend over to help it shouldn't be too rough on you.

I'd say thats a little too much. I drove to the muffler shop with a open y pipe, and gave them my new exhaust, and told them to weld it all together. $35 later I drove home happy. Wouldnt pay over $75 to have them do the td setup.

yeah just put it all up yourself and then go to the exhaust shop and tell them to weld the connections if thats what you want, unless you dont care its clamped up, which if done right should have no leaks.

Well, it's not like you're taking a TSP pre-bent system over there. They will have to supply the materials and make all the bends custom right? I'd say a better price would be around $150-200, but no way a shop is gonna fab up true duals for $75, dumped or otherwise.

I supplied the same parts for my Flowmaster TD's on my 02 Z, and paid $100 for the pipe and labor. Only took a little over an hour and I was on the road. I still had the full catback on the car as well.

I think I may have to pay the 250$ anyways. He is the only person even willing to work on the car because there are no cats on it. Thx for the info. I will keep shopping for a better quote.

My friend put his headers on and drove it to a shop open headers, gave them the parts, they fitted and welded it all up for like 50 bucks.

Thats a fair quote. I charge the same labor to do this crap on my back. It will take about 4-6 hours to complete a nicely tucked and hung setup...
