Default Which headers?

I think that I am going to go with the TSP true duals but I am at a road block about the headers.
Any suggestions on what you think the better headers are out there? SLP's are great but a little to much for my budget. Thanks

uh, defiently a no on slp's + true duals.... not a good combo for ground clearance...

I have QTP's and they are worth every damn penny! A bit expensive, but they will definetly last the life of the car, and flow extremely well! Also they tuck really well for ground clearance! Enjoy the duals, I love mine!

If you have the money (~1k) go with the QTP's or Kooks.

On a budget (~350) go with the Pacesetters.

Truthfully the Pacesetters are really nice headers for the price. I am really happy with mine.

same here with the pacesetters, they are just like the QTP headers just not stainless and rustproof. just get armor coated pacesetter headers from byunspeed.com and you will be happy, installation was a snap and they sound awsome lol.

I had TPIS coated which didn't last more than 2 years before the coating was peeling off and they started to leak at the collector. I have since gone to Kooks and am very happy with them.

Pacesetters are not like QTPs. Its more then just the material. Velocity spike thicker gaskets and merge collectors. And will never rust on you.

Go with the QTP headers there great. I think they might be coming down in price alittle. Give barry a call the headers are being made with a even better stainless steel. They make awsome power.

still produces around the same horsepower, you arent gonna be getting more power just because they are stainless. I didnt say they were better than QTP but they will perform the same as them, if he has the money go for QTP but if money is an issue pacesetter headers are a good choice next to them.

My Hooker headers are holding up very well....been in the car for three years with no loss of coating or any other problems. They fit much better than my SLP headers and I actually gained 3hp and 5ft/lbs making the switch....without any other changes done to the car. Might have been a fluke...who knows.

Been looking at the QTP, Kooks and Pacesetters. Basically it is down to these three. Interesting opinions on the headers and I am used to whatever works on my gen 1 block is just fine. The Gen 3 is a little more diffecult to decide on.

Theres a pretty big difference between the qtp's/kooks and the Pacesetters.

You are going to get what you paid for with either of them. The QTP's/Kooks are stainless steel and will not rust on you. While the Pacesetters will eventually.

Looking for stainless? quality?

You said that you were on somewhat of a budget, so it sounds like the Pacesetters are you best bet.

You cant go wrong with any of the choices.

yeah, there is a lot of difference, another one that wasn't mentioned, was the install factor. Many people have to disconect their steering shaft when installing their pacesetter and other brand headers. But with QTP's it absoultely unnecessary. I have had these headers on my car through two "snows" and as much rain as Kansas can have in 6 months.... AND: no rust! none! Pacesetters would have rust. AND no matter what they say, The gains may not be huge in comparison, but QTP's WILL flow better, will last longer, and will look better. worth the extra money.

I can say this as well, cause i have very little money, and even though it took an extra two months to save the extra dough, it was worth it!

Might be a dumb question. But what about ground clearence? Is any one of them better. I know with a lowered car I am going to drag them.

i didnt have to disconnect the steering shaft, pacesetter headers slide right up in there and are a very easy install. dont know where you got that you had to disconnect the steering shaft with pacesetters but they are perfectly made and fit great, the only downfall to them is they arent stainless but who cares about alittle rust unless its a show car, who is gonna see the headers under the car anyways. and ground clearance is awsome they tuck up very well, if you want the QTP then get them they are worth it but so are pacesetters both headers are awsome and flow very well.

My 2 cents regarding Pacesetter and QTP.
Pacesetter = good.
QTP with High Velocity Merge Collector = better.

Either way, both are good headers. Depends how much $$$ you have.

Installed Hooker and Flowtechs on a couple of F-cars(both 02's)and it wasa lot easier than I thought it was going to be. My Iroc's were harder. I don't mind spending the dough on the QTP's if I am going to get a better product that lasts longer. I really liked the kOOks and the QTP's. I also looked into the Edlebrock Steped headers. I think my head will explode from so many choices.

FWIW Pacesetters are not equal length headers. They were built around ease of installation. If you looking for max performance, QTP HVMC or the edelbrock slip fit. From a budget prespective the pacesetters cant be beat.
