Default LS1 intake and LS6 heads

It is my understanding that I can fit an LS6 intake to my LS1 (year 2000). It is also my understanding that I cannot fit my LS1 intake to LS6 heads. If this is true, can someone explain why?

Thanks in advance.

Thats is wrong. You can put a LS1,LS6,LS2,LSX intakes on those heads. On the ls6 intake you will need to change the crossover tube.
