ported MAF ends worth anything?
i was curious, does porting your MAF ends giv u any power or throttle response? i heard by doing this it tricks the computer or something and it leans out the A/F mixture. but what kinda gains could u see from this?
Thanks,
Ron

Stock tune, on a relatively stock car they can pick up the HP, mostly due to adding more timing.
I ran all my stock internals years with Whisper ported ends.
Once you step up to modified setups. i.e. Head & Cam where you need a complete custom tune it's best to run the stock ends. Mostly because tuners don't have to complete re-write the MAF tables.

just did an experiment tonight at the track with a stock maf screen and all.........and a ported with center bar cutout.
I picked up 1.4 mph and .038 faster consistently on 3 runs. This is on a 400+ rwhp car
same 60' on all three runs, launching at same rpm on an A4 car with yank 3600 tc.
