What to expect from SLP LT's

First off, I already had a Loudmouth exhaust before adding the SLP LT's, and there was a noticeable improvement in tone and volume after installing the headers. :hump:

I'd estimate 20 rwhp gain...:D

You should expect to hit these headers on a lot speed bumps, dips in the road, etc. :judge: Take a look at the first pic... The SLP LT's hang way low, and are definitely not for a lowered car.

I wasn't satisfied with the thick/skinny band clamps supplied by SLP, and I've got a couple of wicked exhaust leaks. See pics 2 & 3. I can't wait to redo them with better materials. There's not much room between the O2 sensor and the cat, though. Doh! We'll see how far I can knock the exhaust back before re-clamping them.

I just got horrible tranny prying flashbacks. :jest:

Congrats on the install. They're better than no LT at all, so enjoy.
They can support a stock internal or cam only setup no problem. Anything after that, you're giving up hp/tq to other brands.

I lived with them for about 18 months and they did their duty.

Just curious if you would have any problems with the o2 being close to the cat?

I haven't had to pass emissions since I added the headers, but it has passed regualr VA inspection since. I don't see why it would be a problem there, and there's not a lot of room on the collector to put it somewhere else.

SLP's are pretty much the bottom of the totum pole as far as long tubes go (performance wise).

thats what i have, but when i bought them they were pretty much the only choice :(, the rumors of the hookers were just coming about when i bought mine..
o and i welded mine solid instead of using the band clamps.

you will be hitting you head against the wall with these headers, and will change them after hitting them on every pothole, and speed bumps.

They do hang LOW :(

But the positive side is ......................

Wait, there isn't one. Well you have headers :jest:
