Buying a cutout
#3
I've had the QT and now the Street Pro.
I like the design and placement of the pipe better with the Street Pro in comparison the QT. With a downpipe, the exhaust points straight down rather than off at an angle. I like the on-off switch on the Street Pro better too as it kills the power to the electric motor VS the Quick Time where you have to count 4-5 seconds for full open or close.
Pic is not too good, but you can see what the install looks like with the Street Pro.

www.quicktimpeformance.com is where you get the electric cutout. Get the stainless steel cutout with the valve. it wont rust on you.

If you go electric be sure to bring it with you when you have the cutout welded on so they can get the right angle/position before welding so there's room for the motor part. I broke mine on a hard launch and had to take it off, and now it's "manual" only.

The angle of the Quick Time bolted to the cut-out is one of the reasons I replaced it the Street Pro. There is a cavity (passenger side) under the car where you can fit the Quick Time, but you are forced to attach a downpipe, else the exhaust shoots straight against the floorboard.
With the Street Pro you can place the cutout anywhere in the I pipe and the exhaust flow goes straight back (or down if you attach a downpipe).
Both are quality units. Get the stainless cutout as suggested to mate up with your stainless catback if you get the Quick Time.

I made some stainless cutouts that we spliced into a customers stainless catback. We then attached QTP Electric cutouts to these.
I'm sure any decent shop will have the capability to do this for you.

I just welded a 3" collector, that I got from Summit, in the I pipe just where it starts to bend up to go over the rear axle. Fabbed up a cover out of 3/16" aluminum. Total cost about $25. It's not electric but spinning on 3 wing nuts is no big deal since I leave it open most of the time anyway.

Here are pics of another solution for a cutout (CutOut Muffler hyperlink). It's a McCord electric. DMH makes one too.
