Default exhaust cutout question

What size cutout would you need if you have the stock y-pipe? Thanks for any help

Exclamation

I have a 3" QTEC.....the 'I' pipe is 2-3/4" usually...mine is under the rear passenger seat....there's a spot for it----G.M. should have had it as an option.

Sorry to hijack, but can the 3 in cutout be clamped onto the I pipe instead of being welded?

Welding ensures no leaks. The cutout itself is made of thick metal that will laugh at clamps.

I have band clamps on mine and they work fine...no leaks

Well, that answers the question. I wouldn't a thought it was doable.
