Another vote for LT's, ORY, and LM. Put a sick cam in it and WOW. Mine was deffinatly one of the loudest around. 6800 rpm is nuts with this setup.

you can do headers in a day, more like a few hours. if you go headers and TDs you most likely will have the whole system up in a day. i had to drive around with headers and a y-pipe for a while becuase i couldnt get the y pipe onto the catback, but that wasnt any louder than my cutout is now.

I'm going to have to agree. All I have is the loudmouth right now and it drives people CRAZY. I absolutely love it, but alot of my buddies think its so damn loud. cant wait to see what the LT headers and ORY will sound like

bah, gotta start somewhere!

I had no experience either and just started unbolting suff.
Luckily I had the internet to help me out.
There are plenty of write-ups. And you save lots of money and learn lots in the process.

Make friends with someone who has done this stuff, that's how I did cam and heads swap on my old car.

I hear ya.
The steering linkage FREAKED me out when I had to undo it to take out the SLP LT's that were in there, but as with everything else, it was just a matter of unbolting it, then bolting it back on as per the write-up I found on it.

With most LT brands, you need not bother with the steering linkage.
The scariest part of the whole header swap is simply being under your car being jacked up so high. Make sure you use proper safety precautions, and don't be afraid to wrestle/hit certain exuast items to get them on (I had a WWF grudge match with my QTP Y-pipe, hehehehe).

loudmouth + long tubes + off road y pipe = loud (had this before)

dual cutouts right behind headers on the front of the ypipe is obnoxiously loud
and can be quieted down when you dont want it that loud. its open headers when you want them and full exhaust when you dont want to be loud. also, as my car sits, it has an open y pipe (no catback) and that is the way it will stay b/c i love the way it sounds like this. try it, you will like it!!

Exactly! Its amazing how many people would rather spend a ton of money to have other people do the work.

As far as the exhaust, you know how it's suppose to end up like so there isnt anything a little trial and error cant fix.

i didnt have to do anything with my pacesetters besides unbolt the factory manifolds and y pipe, and bolt in the new stuff. that steering linkage thing, griding the casting tab on the block, notching the k-member, none of that is usually necessary, every once in a while someone has to do it, but its not a gauranteed thing, and believe me, its much easier to press the headers into the firewall a little to get the needed space than all that other ****...and dont forget that was my first time doing something beyond changing oil.

Give me LTs, Sweet Thunder true duals, dumps and a 230ish cam. Theres a soundclip of a 00Z with TR224, S2 heads, Pacesetters and Sweet Thunder duals that sounds insane. Convinced me within .3 seconds of hearing it to switch from B&B to Sweet Thunder.

Definetly. True Duals is the only way to go if you want the absolute loudest. Stay far away from the loudmouth. Its a poor mans v8 fart can.

Quite a few people come on here asking what the "loudest and meanest" exhaust is. Exhaust sounds are subjective, meaning that everyone has their opinions. However, many quickly realize that TOO loud gets old VERY quick. Tone should be the more important thing you're looking for, rather than volume.
