Default Need some help here.

Couple questions:

First off, installed the Long tubes a few days ago. Now I have that annoying tapping exhaust leak and since the search isnt working I cant seem to find out how to go about stopping it... any ideas?

Secondly, my true duels give me about 2" clearance. I cant go anywhere without thrashing my mufflers on the pavement. Little dips, curb cuts, or just where the pavement has caved in from traffic will hurt the ears. I bought the system off ebay, 3" piping. Did I install it wrong, or should finding a new setup ease my problem here?

Assuming I do go with a new setup, would it be cheaper to say buy two sweet thunder mufflers, a sweet thunder x-pipe, and bend the rest of the pipes at a shop or buy a pre-built on all together?

How much more would it be to add cats, rear o2 bungs, and something so I can bolt it to the headers rather than weld it to them?

And slightly off subject and just real quick, can anyone tell me where my charcoal canister is located? I see the purge solenoid but havent had time to follow the hose back to the canister itself yet.

1) Find the leak, then get back to us.
2) Take your existing setup to a good exhaust shop and they can try to gain you some clearance by fitting it better than you can (I learned this the hard way).
3) See 2
4) See Thunder Racing for Cat prices. O2 bungs bolted on? That's news to me.
5) Can't help you there.

I think that hose just goes to the gas tank.

Search magnaflow cat on ebay for some good cheap cats. I've got 2 in my living room from there now. No use running rear O2 sensors, so there really is no use running the bungs. All those cats would do is reduce noise and MABY let you pass inspection.

I think you need to fool around with your exhaust some more to get it riding better. Might have to bash in a muffler, floorboard, or tubing somewhere. An exhaust shop should be able to make things right for you even if they have to cut and reweld a few things.

Tks for the replies. The exhaust leak is between the head and exhaust manifold. Ill see what a shop can do for my clearance. The rear o2 are to help the car know how the car is running... and the car was designed to run with cats... they don't hurt performance except maybe adding a small little weight to it... no reason not to have them exspecially if it reduces the NOx output... The charcoal canister would be inline between the gas tank and the purge solenoid. Just not sure where yet...

The exhuast leak at the manifold definately needs attention.

The rear O2's should simply be deleted with edit, or put some O2 simms on there at the very least.

I have sims, just the thought of lying to the computer is somewhat trouble some. And I know the leak needs attention, that's why I am here. I tried tightening the bolts, didnt help. What if I used the paper gasket they sent with it in conjuction with my stock metal gasket?

True, simms don't always work.
Get someone to tune those rears out.
As for the LT's you're gonna have to unbolt that thing, wiggle the flange around and tighten it up again. If that doesn't work, try another GM stocker. Don't use the paper gasket.
Sequentially work the bolts, getting them all tightened down, then tq. to spec if you wish. It's a pain, but things could be worse.
