Default Please give me info on true duals ????

Hi there i have never had true duals before and i am thinking about switching over from my current setup which is a dynomax bullet in the i pipe with dual tips. I am looking for somthing that is going to sound good not too raspy and not much back pop if possible. I just bought a slp cme valance with the cme tips. I have seen some pictures of guys running what looks like 2 kinda c shaped pipe next to eachother and called it a X pipe. then ran the pipes next to eachother back and over the axle like stock then out the tips. Is that a real X pipe ? I will post a pic of what i am talking about. I thought a X pipe looked like a X.
So what do you guys reccomend for TD's i am thinking about fabbing it up myself so that way the muffler shop wont charge me a arm and a leg.
Thank you !

I think you should search and look at a ton of pics and buy a good x pipe, and a universal kit if you are a fairly competent welder fabricator. Hedman makes a good x pipe thats cheap but look at pics so you get a good idea of what to do and get. Read alot too. If you dont have a mig welder you should be able to rent one. Even if you have not welded alot its very easy, and you can practice first its just common sense stuff to fab. Get your car up high and safely blocked. And I use my stands for the pipe to tack it in place. And a table saw and metal cut off blade works well for cutting angles. You can touch them up with a belt sander and coarse paper. 1/2" clearance on the drivers side for torque is good, and on the tunnel 1/4" clearance in the rear, is good. Tuck your mufflers good into the tunnel or you will not have good ground clearance. And reverse your fuel lines. You will find all this in a good search. Good luck bud. Oh yeah the pipe in the pic is an x pipe. My recommendation is minesfasters own 2 hands doing it.

It doesnt look like a traditional Dr. Gas x-pipe because it seems to be cheaper to buy 2 mandrel 90's, cut them and weld them lol. Still works great though. I think flowtech makes that x. I have a TSP dual system too, same X pipe.
