i went with kooks just because when i was shopping around last year i read that some people were having some problems with the QTPs hitting the K member. for that kind of money, I would hope that for that much money they would fit perfect, and thats how the kooks LTs were. so im happy, but i have heard alot of good things about both companies

lol Kooks are taking a beating today. A short time ago they were thought to be pretty even with QTP. What happened over the past month or two?

Do the QTP's really make more power, or is it just internet legend/manufacturer claim?

As far as I can tell, the only tangible advantage QTP has over Kooks is that they are polished.

Kooks now offers a stainless steel y-pipe, the same is not true for QTP.

Kooks now come with new bolts and good gaskets. Maybe QTP do also, I don't know.

QTP less expensive? Maybe, maybe not. I know I didn't pay retail price for the Kooks. If one is to shop around, there are deals to be had on either brand.

Kooks are good headers, but I agree with this post 100%! LG is comming out with f-body headers this summer, and will without a doubt be one of the best longtubes made for these cars!

Now, back to the question. I would pick the Kooks over the QTP headers. You will see the second coming of Jesus before you see your QTP headers.

The QTP's now come standard with "polished" stainless steal, HVMC's and are cheaper than kooks to top it off. The HVMC's are where the extra power comes in.

I would think that the QTP's w/ HVMC would perform better. However I have also heard that the ground clearance with the QTP Y pipe SUCKS! This is a big issue for me. Im still on the fence as to which one to get.

how are QTP's on a lowered car though? I read about ground clearance is terrible? is that true?

*just got off the phone with QTP and they said the new design is a lot better on ground clearance* just wanted some input from the lowered cars

Thanks

I know how you feel. I had to wait 3 month for my headers. QTP treated me like sheet.
