Question motor mount install

welp, i tried doing the drivers side install but i just dont have the rite equipment.

is their anyone else besides fbody motorsports and moreperformance around the charlotte aria that can install motor mounts? i called fbody motorsports and the guy said he had never done this before and he wants to drop the craddle, that doesnt sound too pleasing to me.

who else does motor mount installs and what is the price ill be looking at?

thanks, ryan

the right equipment? All you need is some jack stands, and a jack, a rachet, and extensions, or some gear wrenches. so PB blaster, or wd40 will help lossen the bolts.

if you take the headers off, it will be much easier

No need to remove the valve covers. If you are leaving the headers/exhaust manifolds in place, I would definitely take it somewhere.

The exhaust shop welded one of my headers to the exhaust (even though I told them not to) So I can't get that off. So I did them while the headers were still on. Won't do it again, that's for sure.

haha, I would imagine. I know that 80% of my problems were with the headers being in the way of the wrench.

Just make sure you have a friend to push the motor into place while you put the bolt into place.

I drove to Summit to get mine. I needed mine the same day. Speed Inc is good, too. Free shipping on orders over $100. Let us know how the install goes. Especially the passenger side.

What is the part number for the ones at summit?

Motor mounts # -?
Tranny mounts # = ?

Once i get everthing ill let you know how it all goes.

Putting headers, custom catted y pipe, plugs and wires, motor and tranny mounts.
Any helpful links to the install of any of these is appreciated thanks!

luckly for me, I'm planning on new poly. motor mount/trans mount but, heads/headers will be off cause I'm doing a head/cam swap along w/ headers. so sounds like I should have no problems.

remove the altenator and starter, then you can get to the long bolts, what is a little hard is lossening the bolt to the engine. use a 15mm gear wrench to make it all easier. remove the frame stands, long extintions and a swivel help to. its frustrating but worth it on the first drive after. it took me about 2.5hrs to do mine and showing a few other how.

Same part # as Thunder, 7-512 for motor and 7-1604 for tranny.
