Default Bullet muffler power loss?

Just wondering what you guys thought.

If you had a Cam only car with a decently free-flowing exhaust (Hooker).
How much rwhp would you lose by putting a bullet muffler in the I-pipe to quiet everything down?

Bullet is straight through. Probably next to nothing.

Have you looked inside? There is nothing in the way of the flow. It is straight through.

ele-blue95 put a bullet in the I in his LT1. It got rid of 95% of the rasp, and the recent dyno pull he did ( I was there to watch ) proved that he lost NOTHING.

His setup is a bullet in the I ( off of my old TSP TD setup ), then a Dynomax turbo muffler. He lost no HP on the dyno with the cutout closed, and gained 5 lb/ft of torque.

It sounded AWFUL before the bullet in the I, but welding it in cleaned up the sound nicely.

I was wondering about this myself because i have LM with a custom Random Tech catted y, which is almost like having an ORY, only sometimes it has minimal rasp, otherwise i love the sound......i am a lil concerned about when the cam goes in in a couple days if it will sound worse.....

hhhmmm, very good information.

Maybe when I put the Cam in the car, I can be a bit stealthy. My Hooker exhaust is already a little quiet, even with the Longtubes. I have almost no rasp now, but I'm thinking the bullet muffler will get rid of the last little bit, and maybe hide the lope a bit.

thanks for the input

His car has the GM LT4 Hotcam, and at an idle, with the cutout closed, it is so stealthy...
