I simply unbolt right behind the mufflers and right before the tips and the rear end can drop. I can run dumped if I choose, and it was much less expensive than trying to go over the axle. I know it is doable, but I love the way mine looks under the axle.

i agree. i finally got hooked up with a guy a friend of mine knows.
he likes money, you tell him what you want and he does it.

exhuast guys think they know everything, and run it the fastest way possible so they can make a buck and move on to the next one.

ive seen worse, so his aint that bad. if you keep it the way it is, paint it all flat black and it wont be such an eyesore.

2.5" all the way back...I guess I should update my sig with that info. It cost me $325 from the headers to the back minus the mufflers and H-pipe. It is mandrel bent to the mufflers, crush-bent behind the mufflers. I can unbolt behind the muffler and run mandrel bent, dumped if I choose to.

the ground clearance isnt nearly as bad as it looks in this picture

A friend owns his own shop and charged me 500 for the header install and bending all the pipes. Let me know if you think i got raped but compared to what he has charged me before i think i did alright.
that doesnt look very good...and yea you got raped. Considering a stick of 10 ft tubing is about 20 bucks. and the clamps are pretty 5 each. For the quality of work, id have paid 125 bucks for it plus header install of 150...JMO>

yeah he had to weld and buy pipes. i had the jegs universal mandrel bent kit but couldnt use it because the th400 crossmember hangs to low and the xpipe landed right under it and i would have only had about 1-2 inches clearance with 0 weight. im 205lbs. and it would have been scraping everywhere, so he had to bend the whole system. ive read most shops charge about 200 for header install so 300 parts and labor for the exhaust doesnt seem TOTALLY ridiculous. a little but i can live with it. the tips will get fixed before i pay him.
That is why you add more bends....A universal kit is not supposed to fit every car the same. DUh! lol Buy a few extra bends and some tubing and cut to fit or extend tubing as needed and route it around everything. Most people just buy an X and a bunch of misc bends and go to town. Thats how ive done them atleast. You place the X after the x-member pretty much under the tailshaft.

i figured they would need to be somewhat out so fumes didnt do any sort of damage to the paint of fiberglass bumper. no?

i dump my exahust underneath my car by the axle. no fumes little black underneath from runnin rich sometimes but it does not hurt anything the fiber glass will hold up

Z28convert - If you're happy with and it doesn't leak, then just enjoy. I would definitely have the tips adjusted so they don't stick out so much. I do like the idea of the cross pipe though. But for God's sake wash your car and lower the damn thing.

$500 isn't that bad for the header install and the duals.

I dont think thats a steep price but they could have done a better job. And clearance doesnt look that good.
