How to?..... how do i disable the sensor that turns the headlights on automaticly when it gets "to dark" outside or when i put the e-brake down at night? i want to have manual control of the headlights.
I did this on my 2000 SS but kept the DRL's. I pulled the radio out of the dash and laid it aside, then I looked for the leads coming from the light sensor that's mounted on top of the dash and snipped the power supply wire (only two wires if I remember correctly , one ground and one power.) I spliced in two 500 ohm resistors that I bought from Radio Shack into the power wire making sure the connection was good and solid and put the radio back in. What the resistors do is trick the sensor that it is daylight all the time thus giving you control of your lights.

Just lift up the dash top by the alarm LED. It's held on with velcro. Next to the alarm LED is the auto headlight sensor. Unplug the connector and short the wires together with a small piece of bare wire. That's all it takes and will not effect the DRLs.
