Default With Cats, or Without?

Hey everybody, sorry for my Newb-ie-ness. I just aquired a 2001 TA ( http://www.zeeboid.com/main.html )and am looking ad mods. I'm think'in the QTS exhaust, but my question is:

With Cats, or Without.

i'm not sure about yet (and will take sugguestions on) the exhaust from the Y back, but from what I understand, the Cats, help to reduce noise, as well as the whole emissions th ing

its a 200 buck diffrence.

Also, I know the headders have a hook up for AIR, but is there no electrical after the cats?

Thanks!

Welcome to the boards. Im sure you'll find more than enough help here. Your question is a common one, so make sure to make use of our search feature. IMO, I would go with cats. There is no real reason not to other than the slight price difference. As far as choosing a catback, visit ls1sounds.com and lsiten to a variety for sound/video clips to determine which one suits your taste best.

Im no sure what you mean by electrical after the cats, but if you are meaning components then the only powered sensor behind the cat would be the post-cat o2 sensors. The post-cat o2s simply tell your computer how the cats are performing. IE, it will illuminate the MIL if your cat is bad, or more common these days, missing.

not looking for it to be super loud. If that does make a big diffrence, then i'll most likely get the set with cats.

I'm asuming this is why they sell the simulators? can you disable the Service light with a computer programmer?

Some tuning devices are able to delete the code. Some aren't. Sims are a good way to get rid of the light if you plan on waiting until you put in a cam, or do a few more modifications to your vehicle before getting it dyno tuned. But all in all, it's a waste of money if your on a tight budget.
