Default Which Headers should I get?

I want to get Long Tube Headers for my 99 Z28 but I don't know which ones to get. I want Stainless headers. I was thinking of getting SLP Long Tubes, Kooks, or QTPs. I was wondering if there were any problems with them and if anyone had them are they happy with them.

SLP's hang very low, as long as Kooks send you you 2 of the MATCHED headers(lol) they are great, same for QTP's. IMHO coated Pacesetters are the best bang for the buck out there. Anyway LT's are a great first/second mod.

I've got Kooks and am very happy with them. They were very easy to install and have the best ground clearance of the three.

Even with QTP HVMC now cheaper than Kooks, I'd still go with Kooks again.

I like my pacesetters. They installed very easily and I haven't had any problems w/ them except surface rust. But hell I bought them used for 200 including the y-pipe. I did use the ball flanges off of my old MAC catback from the stang so I wouldn't have to use clamps.

Does anyone with the QTPs and Kooks have any problems with clearance. My car isnt lowered or anything so I was wondering if the SLPs will still be a problem. And are there any other problems with SLPs other than clearance?

My Kooks & ORY have better ground clearance than my stock manifolds & y-pipe did.

The stock y-pipes seem to hang way lower than they need to.

Another problem with SLP are they are really hard to install versus the other two.

The clearance on the QTPs is fine, it' s the y-pipe that can be a problem. But, what do you want from a 3" y-pipe, with a good merge collector?

QTP

I am considering the QTPs with a catted y. My car is not lowered so I was wondering if the Y pipe will have the same clearance as the stock or change a little? Do i need to get the car tuned right after I install them or will it be fine for a month or 2?

Here's my QTP's (HVMC), hope it helps.

After a couple weeks, mine turned gold due to the heat.

Here's a clearance picture for you:

^^^^^^ ^^^^^^

If you dont feel like dropping the money on stainless, pacesetters are the next best choice. They are about 1/2 price, ceramic coated, look great, fit great, and mate up to nearly every y-pipe x-pipe setup you can find.

I wasn't worried, it's normal for the headers hot/cold/hot/cold/hot/cold.... turns em gold.

What is the problem with the QTP catted Y? And if it is so bad what would be the best thing to do to get a y-pipe with cats on it? Thanks
