Default Mufflex Bump-Stop

I installed the mufflex bump stop on my car and it stoped the bumping. But here is what I discovered: when I installed it where the instructions stated and when I put the clamp on the pipe and I tighten it, it was still loose. I did a "jale chicano" (what we call making it work in El Paso) and like I stated the y pipe does not bump any more.

I am assuming that the y-pipe that came with my 99 T/A (bought it used) is not the stock y-pipe for two reasons:
1. it has no flat areas on it
2. it was bumping (I assume the factory one did not bump)

Here is the question I have: does any one make a 2" y-pipe?
by the way I ordered the 2 1/2" bump stop from thunder racing.

Just curious if anyone has had this problem.

you may have an slp ypipe, but i think they are 2.5". a pic would help.

unless someone fabbed up their own ypipe...?...thats a possibility.

What type of headers do you have?

I will try and get a pic of it this weekend, when I do the oil and plug change.

I have stock exhaust headers.

Yeah, it might be an slp ypipe then. There are ony a few companies that make replacement ypipes for the stock manifolds. You chould check out some pics that our sponsors have---->

Try TByrne.com or LS1Speed.com ...you might find a pic there.
