Air filter
Air filter I can get a new K&N filter for my 2002 SS. The filter was purchased for a 1998 Corvette.
Question is, why do the stock filters have the same part number for both cars but the K&N filters have different part numbers?

So they can charge more for a "vette filter" 
I just run a paper, noticed no difference at all on the switch. Rather spend a few bucks every couple of months than have to worry about dicking up my maf.

I checked on K&N's site. According to their specs the vette filter is 1/8" thicker. But it fits. Their site also says both filters replace the same part number original filter.
I got it a few days ago, nothing like a free K&N still in the box.
