Nice choice on the catted y, it will provide a much more refined tone.

90% of LS6 intake manifolds do not have the provision (hole) for EGR, as they are mostly just taken off of some 01+ car. SLP sells an LS6 intake manifold WITH the hole, if you want to keep all your crap (california). My suggestion would be go and have all the emissions codes deleted so you don't have to run O2 sims in place of the rear O2 sensors. You will also be able to remove the EGR and AIR systems. I would go with the "race" version of the headers, as they have no provisions for EGR/AIR and would not make it obvious when someone looks under the hood and sees block off plates. Not that this would really matter i they look under the car and see 3" collectors

The 01+ cars don't have EGR because they use a slightly smaller camshaft with a bigger LSA, and diddn't need it per emissions requirements. It is the same camshaft used in the 6.0l truck motors from the time.

So should I get the LS6 intake with the hole? If I got with LT's i'm going to be illegal anyway. Where could I go to have all the emissions codes deleted? If I get a catted Y will I need o2 sims?

Get the LS6 intake without the hole and no NOT buy O2 sims. If you do this, you can buy the "race" headers and have a much cleaner engine bay. The cats in the y-pipe are going to give the rear O2 sensors a reading that is probably going to trigger the SES light, and i dont even think they have bungs welded in for that.

Search for some sponsers that are close to you and have ls1edit/hp tuners. They can delete the codes for AIR/EGR/rear O2's for usually less than the cost of O2 sensors alone!

I think Speed Engineering is in CA somewhere...

If you click alpha sponsor list at the top, you can enter your zipcode and find places close to you. OR you could ship your PCM somewhere and have it done if you don't live by anybody.

I'm not sure if you can do it or not in CA, but before you go and mod, get the car inspected so you'll be good for at least another year

I read on this site a few weeks ago that you have to install one header at a time...Is this true?

So if I got LT's(racing) + catted Y will it directly bolt on as of the mods I have now or will I have to get the LS6 manifold without the hole? I don't quite understand.

so, get race style LT's, catted Y, no 02 sims, no 02 extensions? that is what you would need if you intend to tune out the codes? how long could you run with LTs and y installed with no tune (if you don't do egr/02 sims and such)?
