Intake comparison: spreadsheet and graphs inside
http://www.ls7power.com/images/tune/...s_hp_chart.xls
The chart is pretty self-explanitory. It compares the HP & TQ produced by the following intake and TB setups:
1. Stock LS1 intake & TB
2. Stock LS6 intake & TB
3. TPIS Oval LS6 intake & 90mm oval TB
4. TPIS Round LS6 intake & 90mm round TB
5. Fast 90mm intake & TPIS round TB
Horsepower is shown in black and torque is shown in blue. The peak numbers are shown in red. At the bottom of the chart, I totalled up a few things and the best in each catagory are also shown in red:
1. Totalled up the HP & TQ for each combo to get a total "area under the curve" comparison.
2. Race HP: Totalled up the HP between 5800-6800 rpm for each combo, which is my powerband. You can change it up to represent yours. This gives you an idea at which one has the best top-end to fit your combo.
3. Street TQ: Totalled up the TQ between 2000-3400 rpm for each combo, which is my cruising rpms since I have a 4800 stall. This one will tell you which combo has the best low-end grunt for your driving.
4. Totalled up the "Race HP" and "Street TQ" to get an overall best combo for top-end and low-end combined.
Hopefully I haven't made any mistakes but I'm sure there are some. Let me know if you find any or have any questions.
