I thought about this setup numerous times a year or so ago, was going to run my mac mids with cats into an x-pipe, then into two slp lm I resonators, then out the back of the car, however the exhaust shop wanted too much so i ditched the idea. Def would be a sweet sounding system though with cats, I dunno how it would be with no cats though and dumped at the rear...would be friggen loud!

OK. I have the LMII catback with an ORY and 1 3/4 LT headers. I bought the system to mate to my new 402 block. BIG MISTAKE!!!! It is way to loud. I have to do something about this pronto. I was thinking of addidng another resonator in line to get the db's down some. Not sure how well that will work out. I don't want scrap the catback as I just bought it. Trying to figure out how to get her quieter without introducing a restriction. As it is, it is restricted by the single pipe which I dont think is even 3" id.

You just need to get two of the bullet mufflers that can be swapped for the resonators. BTW - there's no such thing as too loud...

[EDIT] Cats helped. But I like it loud.

IMO, if you are going to do full exhaust with duals just use a diferent muffler. You want cheap, loud, acceptable sound (bitchin at idle and high rpm) go with Dynomax bullets. You want what most people think sounds best, get sweet thunders. Or if you want it a little quieter look into some offerings from Magnaflow, Borla (XR-1), etc.
i understand where your coming from but i'm not trying to be like everyone else. i want something diffrent and extreme. if its not what i want then i guess i'll use my pitbull mufflers. is there anything louder than LM??????

Straight pipes, no cross over(X, H) and no mufflers. That would be the loudest setup possible.

Yeah, but only legal in Virginia! We don't have to have mufflers

I found a Midas shop in Sterling, VA that bent custom pipe for me for only $300. It was a deal. I ran an AMG 55 on the street tonight, and I think the LM scared him as much as the way my TA just jumped right out in front of him. (I got 4.10's, and it made me so much quicker off the line

To me it sounds like you just want to make as much noise as possible. Using LM resonators instead of mufflers doens't really make your car any different than anybodies elses, it's still 95% the same system as anyone else who has duals.

If all you want to do is make the most noise possible in order to attract the most attention possible run open headers with 18" extensions off the collector to keep the O2's from getting washed with outside air. Passenger side can go straght back, driver's side will need to be angled/curved/etc to make under the floor. Open headers are insanely loud and sound very, very wicked. I drove straight open headers for three weeks after installing mine, it was crazy! If I were to do that now, with my cam, good lord I can't even imagine.

Have you considered a boomtube?

I havn't seen very many F-bodies with duals. I see many with cat-backs, but have only seen one or two others on the road with duals.
