Default FlowTech Headers ... Go or no?

I'm wondering about getting 1 3/4" Flowtech LT headers, they are used. The price is $150 which I think is decent. I'd like some reassurance from other guys that have them or what you guys think of them before I make a purchase. Thanks

I made 19 RWHP with these alone. They're ceramic coated and after 9 months they still look great. A lot of people on here hate on them because the welds are not as pretty. But they are identicle to the Hookers except the welds and have a 3 bolt flange opposed to a slip fit.

For all you guys who think they suck! Here a nice big pic so you can see thos 'bad' welds

yah I saw the picture and the welds are what concerned me enough to post this thread. they are already ceramic coated? meaning I probably wouldn't want to shave the welds down right?

I'm going to have to do some hating on that y-pipe! That T looking merge is pretty harsh! Those headers look great, look to be equal length primaries too.

I like the flanges as oppossed to slip fits as well.

I have pacesetters and would recommend them if you weren't getting such a damn good deal. I'd say go for it! If you don't like 'em, yank them off later and put on some QTP's or somthing. You'll most likley always be able to get that $125 bux back!

Yeah, that T-Pipe looks like it might choke some flow.

I do agree about the y-pipe. It's even worse when you look inside and see the small hole in the merge. Regardless, she still made an extra 19 RWHP after my install From what I've seen, Pacesetters have the same type of merge in the Y as well as Hooker.

Mufflex makes a y-pipe for hookers using flowmaster's merge for like $300 and I'm about to pick that up.

thw flowtechs are decent headers for the money, the only downside is the 1/4" thick flange.

And the fact that the damn flange isnt even straight half the time.

I had to send my first set back. And even my second set wasnt close enough and had to use double gaskets.

make sure you check and see if the flanges are straight....lay a straight edge on them.

Oh and I had to have an exhaust shop bend the flowtech y-pipe over to make it fit...when I used to have a wimpy little y-pipe

150 is a hell of a deal...I would do it

I guess I got lucky. It did help to have the headers loose as I bolted up the y-pipe to them.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the pacesetters and hookers use this same type of y-pipe?

Not sure about the Y pipe, I wont need one though I'll be running an X, its for a ls1-FC rx-7 project so I will be doing a Custom piping job from the headers. but thanks for the responses guys.
