i live in connecticut and there not to easy going with the emmisions testing. I should have measured but I would say the Y-pipe is 2.75". I had to open the magnaflow pipe where it connects to the Y, but it just barely slides in. Let me know if you guys have any other questions.

hey modern, you had to open the y-pipe to get in to fit snug into the i.d. 3" hooker correct? thats probly what i'll have to do if i go with the borla or magnaflow. i really want it to be the same size through out the pipe so it will avoid turbulence but if this y-pipe is 2.5 or 2.75 i might have to rethink it over. plus i want to add about 150 hp to this car in the future. is a 2.5 or 2.75 enough for 500 hp? whats the size of the collectors? thanks
According to the sales guy I contacted, the y-pipe diameter is 2.5”. Also, according to same and the website, the cats flow, individually, 396.4 cfm. I have come to my own conclusion on their y-pipe, after reading the David Vizard article in the sticky. Good reading.

what the ****!!!! i just read in another forum that the y-pipe is 2.75. i guess i'll have to take my tape measure to were they sell them and measure myself

thats an idea,i could do duals. i'll have to check out what kind of hp can be added with 2.5 y-pipe into a 3 catback first.

I paid something like $1295 or $1395, minus 10% discount, for the complete system as shown in the picture (includes 2 cats, gaskets, bolts, O2 extensions, all clamps);
Plus $270 for jethot coating the headers only (inside and outside).
It's all made from stainless steel, the welds look well done, and the Y-pipe has a nice shallow merge (unlike some others that have a sharp turns at the Y merge).
Edit: I think the price went up recently.

To answer an earlier question, I had to open up the Magnaflow section at the start of the cat back to slide the Y-pipe in. To another question yes my car is lowered with Pro kit in rear and coil overs up front. Car is just too low especially now that the Spohn stuff will be going in. I ordered BMR rear springs to lift it back up a bit as well as make it stiffer. Should be much better after that. I also plan on switching to a custom true dual setup in the near future. Not overly impressed with the sound of the Magnaflow for my preference. It's nice, but I want a little more plus the duals with an X-pipe should sound bad ***. I've got a buddy who does them when he has the time. He did an LT1 car and it sounded like a freakin F1 car. He hasn't done a LS1 car yet so he said just pay for the materials and he'd comp the labor just to do one. Can't wait. Will have to call him after the suspension is done. If I don't get back to you guys with your questions very quickly it's because this sight hasn't been real consistent with letting me know there is new stuff under my thread. So I check it as often as I can. Talk to you guys soon.
i just got off the phone with a garage that does emmissions testing and i asked if long tube headers were illegal. there tech said there would be no ploblem as long as there are no codes thrown. this kicks *** !!! thats where i'll be going after the install
