Default AIR valve...Oh no!!

So I have a set of old rusting longtubes with the air valve on them. I was removing my valve covers today and in the process had to remove the AIR from the headers to make room. Well as I was doing so, I think the bolt hole has rusted to the bolt and as I was unsrewing the bolt, I think it stripped. The bolt will turn but it doesnt unscrew. Is there anything I can do other than buy new headers or is that my only option? Thanks!!

Find some kind of way to pry up on the bolt as you turn it. Use the air tube or put a pry bar under the header tube flange if the bolt threads past the flange. If you have a dremel, try to grind off the threads sticking out the bottom of the header air tube flange. It might need a helicoil on the header air tube flange after you get it out. Worst case senario is grind off the bolt head, move the air tube off it, grild off the rest of the bolt, drill it out and run a tap or helicoil if the threads are too far gone in the hole.

I bet you're just looking for an excuse to get new headers, am I wrong?

You can try what thunder said to remove it (prying and turning), and it should work.

When you get it out, you can simply drill out the old threads and just use a bolt/nut to fasten it.

I would recommend scrapping that junk from under your hood and have the codes deleted though, makes for a nicer looking engine bay.

You will just throw the SES light. You can simply have the codes tuned out, which anyplace should do for a small amount of money.

I would go ahead and get the rear O2's tuned out too, then you can sell your O2 sims.
