Default Hooker header problems.. help asap

Well I just got my hooker headers from jethot. Bad thing is that they didnt send me and header bolts, gaskets, or o2 extensions. they said they would send some out to me but I dont want to wait another week or 2 to get these installed? Do I have to use o2 extensions? Im pretty sure I can use stock gaskets and bolts correct? TIA

I was told not to reuse the OEM bolts. Greater chance of that sucker breaking off in your head.

Try your GM dealer for the Gaskets. The OEM gaskets are really nice.

Okay...get some GM exhaust manifold gaskets. The hooker ones suck. I used O2 sims for the rear sensors, and up front one of the sensors reached fine but the other wasnt long enough. Follow the wires to the short one, and work them out of the loom. It will barely reach if you can get the wires out. Get some grade 8 bolts from the local speed shop or some ARP locking header bolts. Most shops can have this stuff within a day or so. DONT REUSE THE STOCK BOLTS!!!!!!! You are asking for trouble with those. Sorry you got shorted on your kit. I got my bolts and gaskets, but didnt get O2 extensions either. What the hell is Hooker up too?

I dunno... I mean the guy at jethot said it was actually their fault. They didnt pack it right. They will have it to me by tuesday would it be in my best interest to wait and use their bolts with stock gm gaskets?

Sorry, but what is wrong with the hooker gaskets and the stock bolts. I used both. The bolts that came with the headers looked too short so I used the stock ones. I haven't had any trouble with the gaskets either.

I got my headers from hooker and all the bolts, gaskets, O2 extensions, etc came with the headers.

I guess some people just have bad luck.

I've used the stock bolts and reused the stock gasket with no problems (MAC & Grot Headers). If they aren't damaged, I see no problems at all.

Do what you want. However, the stock bolts have a reputation for striping out the holes. Whatever you decide make sure you use anti-seize on the bolts so you dont strip em out. Hooker gaskets are known for leaking after a short time. Why not just use some new gaskets. Its worth the $20 buck not to have to worry about header leaks. Good luck, be safe
