LT Header Question? Whats up all,
I was looking at getting some QTP long tube headers. I know that Lt's arent emmissions legal and here they are strict on emmissions. My question is..... If I bought a set of long tubes and used a catted y-pipe could I pass emmissions? If not what would you recommend? I really wanna go with Lt's. Thanks

IMO You should probably go with the LT's and learn how to do it yourself so that way when you go to get it smogged you could just switch back for the day. Also ask around when you go to the darg strip or local car shows and see what they are doing with their LT setups. I met a guy at a local show that owns a smog shop and said I could bring it in anytime and he will pass me no matter what. So Pacesetter LT's here I come!!!
In the strictest sense of the law, no LTs are legal, they alter the position of the cat, so are therefore illegal.
However the reality is often that as long as you have cats, (and pass the sniffer) you usually can get away with it, however if you get it inspected, there is the chance a really strict inspector could fail you for having the LTs.
You can ask around and see if there are any "friendly" inspection stations nearby, that are willing to turn a blind eye to mods
