What mod??

What mod?? I have approx $700 burning a hole in my pocket at the moment and its time to start modding. Its a 98 Z A4. Its completely stock except for the filter. I was leaning towards the triflo to improve the sound and also getting a lid. I know a new torque converter will liven the ole girl up but how hard of a job is it to replace the TC w/out a lift? Thanks for the input guys.

It really depends on what you want the car to do. If you want to sound good? cat back. Do you want to be quicker? converter, cam. If you don't have a lift you'll play hell trying to change out the converter. Cat back and lid sounds good for a start. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

Re: What mod?? If your looking for performance converter all the way. It you want it to sound good cheap just replace the muffler and knock the cats out. I have a 2 chamber Flowmaster and the cats hollowed out, and it sounds awesome. I bought a used converter from a friend (SY3500) and a used programmer. My car went a best of 12.643 at 106.37 with a 1.719 60'. I got less than 800 in the car. Oh ya its a 2001 A4 Z28, thats part of the reason also the 01, 02's seem to be a little faster.

Re: What mod?? Wow thanks for the responses guys. I guess now I'm leaning towards the converter. So now I must go research converters. Bone stock a4 with 273's....Vig2800 do the trick? Also does anyone have anything to say about the Midwest converter I see guys buying over at ls1.com? Its almost half the price of a vig?!! The car is pretty doggy off the line.....can hardly spin them from a dead stop off the line. Thanks again guys you've been very helpful.
