Questions about y-pipe........ I'm getting Hooker LT's with a custom 3-inch y-pipe and I have borla exhuast. I plan on adding a bullet resonator to the catback to quiet it down a bit and the possible raspy drone I've read about, my question is, is that enough to limit the noise or should I do something else??
Re: Questions about y-pipe........ Are you wanting the overall exhaust sound quieter or just the rasp? The bullet should kill the rasp for you. I had 2 2.5" bullets in the y-pipe way back when I had my T/A, and it worked great. Your exhaust will still be loud if you're running an open plate. If you completely close it, then it would be pretty decent as far as noise goes. FWIW, the SLP dual/dual and Hooker catbacks sound great, flow great, and don't need a bullet muffler to kill the rasp. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> The Hooker catback will be louder than the dual/dual will, so take that into consideration if you decide to switch. I bought my dual/dual used with 5,000 miles on it for $208 shipped, and the Hooker catback can be bought new for right at $300.

Re: Questions about y-pipe........ To get rid of the rasp that goes with a off-road y-pipe, most people but 2 bullets in the Y-pipe and that usually takes care of most of it. Mine barely has it though, I have Macs w/ ORP with Magno-flo exhuast. Little rasp at 2300 rpm but barely noticable, I've heard it alot worse on other cars.
