Default Throttle position sensor

My car surges really bad when I come up to a light and at start up sometimes. It will dip down to around 3 to 4 hundred rpm's then shoot up to a little over 1 grand. A buddy said that it's my throttle position sensor. Is this true? Just seems like one day it will run fine then the next like total ****.

I would guess it's the Cam.Did you have custom programming done for it?With A-tap you could moniter the TPS and IAC count to find the cause.
