Re: Anyone tried the ATI Super Damper?
Cool...I just remembered this thread and came back looking for it to see if there were any replies to my original post! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
I did end up buying the dampner for $350 shipped from someone who ordered it from Jeg's ...it was posted on ebay but the reserve was never met (I actually saw the link to ebay either here or on ls1.com).
I am not sure what version it is, but I'm sure that it will be waiting for me when I get home on the 14th.
I think that I am going to hold off installing this on the motor until I do the swap. It is too much headache to pull the ASP for 5hp...I will just turn the boost **** a little more when the turbos are back on!
For those of you that are interested...I believe that Thunder Racing is having a GP on these. Details are posted over here in the GP section of the forums.
Thanks for all the info,
Scott

Re: Anyone tried the ATI Super Damper?
Ok,
I just went back and looked at the info off of the ebay auction that was originally posted.
It looks like the version that I got is one of the serpentine dampers (P/N 917242) and is not underdrive. It also comes with a pulley for the A/C.
What I will probably do when I swap motors is use the smaller alternator pulley from ASP, the ATI damper, and the pulley that came with the ATI for the A/C. And I will sell the ASP for whatever I can get for it!

Re: Anyone tried the ATI Super Damper?
I run the 60% underdrive ATI (aluminum center). You can get them with or without the A/C belt grooves machined in. It weighed 5.5#'s less than stock. Not the lightest or cheapest due to the GOOD dampener, but a superb piece. Timing marks on the o/d of the dampener.
The 60% u/d is not for the faint of heart, large stereo crowd, or sitting in traffic with the A/C on when it's 100 degrees outside.
Summit, etc. can get them or go to www.atiperformanceproducts.com
