ls6 Intake question
1.Is this the case on all Z28's, SS's, Formulas
as well?
2.What distinctive markings or features would
identify it as such? How can I tell the
difference between the LS1 and LS6 Intake to
verify that I haven't been hosed or had a
switch pulled on me either already or in the
future?
The information that floats around this board is
incredible. My hat is off to the gurus and their
unquenchable thirst for automotive knowledge! <img border="0" alt="[hail]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_hail.gif" />
<strong>ALL LS1 equipped cars for 2001 and 2002 have the LS6 intake.</strong></font><hr /></blockquote><font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Exactly what he said.
LS6 V’s LS1?
Ok looking from the front. At the right hand side of the T/B you should see a mould flashing.
It travels from the T/B mounting brace to middle of the first runner. Halfway through the first runner, this flashing turns left at 90 deg and continues to the front side of the left hand side. This left hand turn is the best way to tell the difference. The LS1 manifold has a dead sharp 90 deg turn. Like two straight lines…. The LS6 manifold has a 1” radius turn.
