Longtube header question??
What other headers are available?advantages/disadvantages?
Thanks guys.
Here are some pointers:
1. Buy OEM exhaust manifold gaskets, they are the best for the headers.
2. Use the original exhaust manifold bolts. The one in the kit are a little short. I changed out from the new bolts to the old ones because of concerns about how short they were.
3. Use ANTI-SEIZE on those bolts....dont risk a stripped out bolt hole.
4. Follow the directions for removal of the steering shaft (easy) and the oil bypass (easier)
I run true dual setup with Dynomax bullets so I can tell you that the driver side will be a bear to weld a pipe on as far as ground clearance. I shortened the header collector about an 1 1/2" to get a 3 inch pipe on without bending it to much.
As far as having the factory coating...I recommend having them coated, locally if you know someone. The hooker coating is supposed to be awesome, but I thought it was a little expensive. So I had mine done locally and saved some cash.
Hope this helps.
