Bullets in place of cats, a good idea?

Bullets in place of cats, a good idea? I'm running MAC headers with cats and a Borla catback. I'm moving out of a sniffer test county! I'm thinking that gutting the cats or welding a straight pipe in place will cause the exhaust to be raspy as hell. If my assumption is correct are bullets the answer? If so is Dynomax the way to go? Also is there a recommended length?

Re: Bullets in place of cats, a good idea? Yep, that should kill the rasp with the borla. I am doing the same thing, should have is all together next week. I'll post some sound clips.

Re: Bullets in place of cats, a good idea? I would recommend dual bullets w/ the Borla. The rasp from it is AWFUL. Another alternative would be to pull the cats off, sell the Borla, take that money and buy a Hooker catback for cheaper, have no rasp with no bullets, and end up with a better sounding exhaust. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> I had the Hooker catback on my T/A for a while with no cats, and I didn't have any rasp from it. It's one of the best sounding, if not THE best sounding, exhaust I've heard on an LS1.
