Old valve springs that is. No more banging at WOT! (I know its dirty, that looks like rust, but its not!)

It seems to be working, I was just tired of the banging, and as soon as I get my new motor put in the exhaust is going to be redone and tucked better, so this is suppose to hold me over. Its seen about 80 miles of driving and a few WOT pulls and hasnt budged so I think it'll do til the exhaust is chopped.

Holy sheit! Someone finally did it................. and it worked!

If you've got that much clearance, and you've still got banging problems, you need to check something out! I'm running about 1/4" of clearance in that spot right now and i get no banging at all, with my poly mounts that is.

I WISH I had that much clearance to put something between the floor and the pipes, I gotta get a longass screwdriver on it just to get my fingers under it

Do they actually have enough spring too them? they seem like they might be too stiff.

The thing with mine and clearance for the spring to fit is there is something wrong with the design of my Y. Its too short, it doesnt bang on the floorboard but the transmission crossmember so it hangs low. It sucks be I've gotten used to it! This is just a temporary fix til I get the new motor in, but it works.

WOW that is actually a pretty good idea don't have to worry about banging exhaust on mine but if I did that would be a great temp fix

Did the same thing when my SLP y-pipe was banging last year. It's a good fix for the meantime.
