Since the crank pulley is smaller, it slows everything down, so your alternator doesnt spin as fast, makes less power. The alt. pulley is smaller to compensate for everything moving slower, so now the alternator will be spinning just as fast as with the stock crank pulley. I wouldnt even bother with the alt. pulley unless youre running a 1000w amp or some other crazy power eater. I dont have it on and havent noticed any amp. changes.

They list full charge RPM at 800 for the crank pulley and 950 RPM if both are used. This would likely still only be a problem on an automatic transmission car with a big stereo or extended periods at idle. I have an A4 and will probably only go with the crank pulley.
There is such a thing as an underdrive crank pulley and an overdrive alternator pulley that restores most of the charging capacity (while reducing the effectiveness of the crank pulley) - I just don't think that this is what ASP sells.
EDIT: I looked at ASP's site again and the UNDERDRIVE pulley (2-3/4" Dia) is the only one they show selling as a set with the crank pulley but you can get a separate OVERDRIVE pulley (1-3/4" Dia) that would restore most of the charging ability lost by the underdrive crank. As such, the answer depends on which alternator pulley you have.
