Default Bad idea?

I have the Sponh Torque arm so I have that different cross member that holds up the exhaust. And my off road y-pipe bangs against the crossmember and theres no way for me to support it up anymore. So I'm wondering if it would be safe just to fold a small cotton cloth and put it inbetween the Y-pipe and the crossmember then like secure it with just some duck tape across the underside of the crossmember. I wouldn't think the heat from the Y-pipe would cause any problems with a cotton cloth but I figure I better make sure. Thx.

The common fix for banging pipes is heater hose. It'll take the heat, won't burn and is easy on the pipes.

Where can you get heater hose at? Autopart store? Or like a Walmart?

Any auto parts store carries it, cut it fit your cross brace and secure it to the cross brace with zip ties.

So that rubber heater hose won't melt or anything if touching the Y-pipe?

No,

It won't melt the heater hose. My pipes were banging so I took a 6" long piece and stuffed it between the pipe and the floor board and the banging went away. You can do the same thing between the pipes and the cross member to keep the pipe off the brace.
