Default Manifold malfunction, part question...

Hi All,

I bought a 2003 Corvette LS-1 off E-Bay last summer and finally got around to giving it a thorough once-over. Found the A/C compressor housing cracked and the intake manifold to be busted in the rear!

What is this fitting/sensor unit and could one do without it? Do you think the manifold is saleable like this? What would it be worth? Could it be patched with a plate epoxied over it?

Also, what is the plug in the bottom pic? I'm ASSuming a block drain plug...

Thanks!

Russ

1st pic is your telling you to replace the manifold...That is your MAP sensor. Yes you need it and no there is no way you can repair that type of damage. Looks like it is time for a new manifold. Take a look in the parts section sale/wanted.

I'm gonna use a Victor JR on this motor so it doesn't really matter, was just hoping to sell the leftover parts. I may try to "glue" a piece of 1/4" alum plate over the damage using some 3M 8815 body panel adhesive as it's a flat area. If I can make the MAP fit into it... Ya'll don't think it's worth anything?

Don't think anyone will want to buy a busted up intake with a redneck patch job on it.
