Mac ORY - Testimonials please! I'm tired of buying things that I don't know about fitment. Since I had such an awful experience with my MAC Headers hitting the steering wheel linkage back in the day, I'm not taking any chances here.
I'm looking to get an off road y-pipe, can anyone please give me some input about the Mac ORY, how is fitment? Leaks? Etc...

Re: Mac ORY - Testimonials please! Mine fit ok with a little adjusting. I did the Flowmaster collector mod to mine to help with the raspy sound and to flow a little better. I might sell you mine if you are interested in one.

Re: Mac ORY - Testimonials please! If your talking about the Mac ORY with Mac headers, We put mine on last Thursday. The Headers hit the Steering linkage, we had to grind that down. Then the Y-pipe was banging the floor on the drivers side, had to take it loose and adjust it, then noticed that where the Y slips into the Cat back it was leaking bad, went to Napa and bought a Band Clamp to fix that. Its still touching the floor a little down where that metal piece bolts over the slip joint between the catback and the Y. That will hopefully be fixed tomorrow....

Re: Mac ORY - Testimonials please! I have mac's with off road pipe and it hits the floor board on the drivers side. I 'am going to get some cat's welded in next week,and I'am going to have them crip the pipe down a little bit were the pipe hit the floor board support beem.
Re: Mac ORY - Testimonials please! Take the time to take your cars to your local muffler shops and have them work with the pipes... I have Mac's with ORY and had to have the setup "tweaked" a tad, but now, I have NO problems with "banging" y-pipes or headers.

Re: Mac ORY - Testimonials please! My Bassanis fit perfect. Sure, the Y-pipe took a little time to get it just right during the install, but there is no banging, leaking, etc. (knock on wood <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> ).
I’ve seen banging issues with SLPs & FLP also. Most of the headers have some sort of issue.

Re: Mac ORY - Testimonials please! All exhaust sucks. I hate working with it. When I did my mac headers and ory the y-pipe banged the floor.
I took some time over the next two days and got my exhaust setup so it didn't hit the floor. Not hard to do if you use a floor jack and some patience.
All exhaust stuff will give a hard time. I would highly reccomend the ory, just be aware you will need a muffler to kill that atomic fart sound though. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />
