Default Shorties or stock manifolds?

Goal, stay smog legal in CA and decrease back pressure. Considering Elderbrock or JBA Shorties.

Waste of money or needed mod?

Had Mac's not going there again.

Mods are;
K&N Fuel Injection Performance Kit, CUT-OUT, Blue BMR Strut Tower Brace, Yank 3200 Torque Converter. Ported Blue TR MAF ends, KBDD Sub Frame Connectors, TR55 NGK's, Blue Taylor Spiro Plug wires, a Hypertech HPP3 Power Tuner and a Hypertech 160 stat. ASP Under Drive Crank and Overdrive Alternator Pullies(high power stereo system)and a B&M Tranny Cooler. 3.73 gears. Alarm and other anti-theft measures have also been upgraded. Mobile 1, Helix, Llumar, DynoMax, Dynomat, Alpine

I have Hooker shorties.. very similar to the JBA's.. i bought mine off of eBay for 182 bucks.. cant beat that... i noticed a very nice difference in exhaust tone and overall power gain. Id go with Hookers if you can find them, or JBA's..
