Default universal x-pipe

i think im set on getting qtp headers and im going with a true duals for the exhaust. i plan on putting magnaflow mufflers and running tailpipes under the axle out the back. i found this dr gas kit and was wondering if ill have to do a lot of cutting and re welding to get it to fit.

http://www.drgas.com/store/product.p...1&cat=1&page=1

ive heard some people talk about it before but i cant find to much info about it, i wish i could just find an x-pipe that fits right without having to cut it up .

any info on what i should do for an x-pipe would be great.

thanks

Summit and Jegs have Uni-Xpipe kits for 99 bucks.
I have a summit going on my car soon.

Dr. Gas is the original 'X' pipe, but there are a ton of knock offs these days. I'm sure there are several specific to T/As. (which from the Pontiac spear in your sig is what I assume you have) The cheapest is probably the generic ones from Summit.
BTW, the position of the 'knot hole' in the X is the end of the tuned length for the collectors, so it should ideally be only ~ 12" -24" back from the end of the header primaries (often requires more to fit things together though)

<EDIT> Oops! Slower fingers but more info than 1993...

well if there is anything specific to the bird i would like to know, because i dont know if im going to have to cut **** up and re-weld it because i dont have a welder, but my buddy does. will a knock off universal x-pipe fit up, i think im going to have flanges welded onto the end of the headers so i can bolt everything up.

Get TSP duals if you wana "bolt right up" anything else will require fabrication.

Our cars aren't designed with a true dual exhaust, so anything other than tsp's duals or bassani's dual setup aren't going to just bolt up. If you want to make your own dual exhaust out the back, you'll need a universal merge (xpipe/hpipe), a bunch of exhaust tubing and mandrel bends, something to cut the pipes with, and a welder. If you're not prepared to spend some time/effort building your own, you really ought to have a shop build it for you. My $.02.
