If it was coated inside and out, would it make a difference in the higher temps of it v.s. a plactic LS6 intake?

Jet Hot Coating wouldn't be ideal for this application. You would need a thermal barrier coating on the intake such as Polydyne or SpeedCoat. These are both companies that do the coating. A large assortments of finishes are made especially for covering parts like intakes, pistons, rods, and even bearings if you have the money to do all of this. I have a brand new coated Holley I decided not to use after getting a sheetmetal intake. If you need some information about the coating or are interested in the intake itself drop me an e-mail.

I understand why you would coat the intake (to keep performance from degrading from all the heat), but is that the same reason you would coat the pistons, rods, and bearings? I think that I have heard of someone coating the heads, too. But I thought you wanted the heads to hold heat to make power.... I would be very appreciative if you could explain why you would coat internal parts and how they would affect performance.
