Will MAF ends effect tranny line pressure???

Default Will MAF ends effect tranny line pressure???

I ported my stock MAF... and now I am worried because I hear that it reduces tranny line pressure. If I replace them the ends with aftermarket ones...will it still effect the line pressure? Or should I just buy a new stock MAF to put back on???

I like to know the answer to the question as well. I'm considering buying Whisper MAF ends, but I don't have the means to do any tuning. I'm pretty sure I'd have to tune it.

Yes, it reduces line pressure. You can tell the difference immediately. Great for wearing out your transmission prematurely!

I know that porting yur stock ends reduced line pressure...but do, say...thunder racing ends reduce it also???

You're moving the air in a larger diameter hole, and less air is passing over the MAF sensors. The PCM reads less air, so it decreases line pressure since the MAF is one of the parameters measured to determine line pressure. I wouldn't try a set of ported ends unless you've had your line pressure set to vary directly with your TPS via custom tuning. Even then, you're not seeing added power from added airflow. It's the increased timing and leaner a/f ratio that show the increase in power.
