Pulled my cats, But help! Ok this morning we pulled my cats.. but i have one worry.. the pipes were made free hand.. teh passenger side was pretty good job with one bend.. but the drivers side he bent several times in different spots.. he got it almost as flat as the stock Y pipe in one section.. we used 2.25" pipe and pumped the ends out to fit properly.. would this restrict flow? be worse then with cats? or would it still be better flow?? there not mendrel bent bye the way. And one more question for ppl without cats.. is it normal that it has that kinda hollow sound?? sounds like its coming from the spot were the cats were? sure i like the sound.. but i was mayber thinkin because of the crazy bends this might be why it sounds like that? kinda sounds like a mustang!!! hah Thanx again

Re: Pulled my cats, But help! well it kind sounds a little harsh when i say free hand.. they did use the machine! but matched the pipe bends bye eye and trail and error!

Mandrel bent is preferred, but unless you're making serious HP I wouldn't worry about it.
These engines don't sound like your old SB, do they? Must be that funky firing order......

Re: Pulled my cats, But help! ya man! i'v noticed that to.. the motors these days are soo different sounding.. even when i had my 86 IROC with the 5 litre.. complete different sounds.. especialy when u take the cats out. o well.. ya i think when i start to make big ponnies im gona get duals.. or at least headers!
