idle and the hole in the throttle body ? ...... can the idle be dropped any without programming? i heard, that if you make the hole smaller, the idle will drop, but in turn, youll max out yur iacs...anyone know how to drop the idle?
Re: idle and the hole in the throttle body ? ...... Yes, you could close the hole in the TB off and redrill a smaller one. It will raise your IAC count, and if you have an aftermarket cam it could cause surging problems. I keep my IAC count as low as I can without zeroing it out. Why are you wanting to lower your idle?

Re: idle and the hole in the throttle body ? ...... after i got my t/b ported, it was like 200-300 rpm higher. when coming to a stop, in neutral, the car will be at like 1200-1250 rpm, then once the car stops, itll be at like 1100, still a lil high for my taste. mebbe somewhere in the 800-750 range is what im looking for.
Re: idle and the hole in the throttle body ? ...... You might want to get a set of Torx and adjust your idle set screw. Then do the idle relearn procedure that will be a much better fix to your idle. You could have also had a ported TB that lets air around the throttle plate, this will make you idle much higher and then filling in the throttle hole will cure that.

Re: idle and the hole in the throttle body ? ...... Yeah, it sounds like whoever ported your TB took some of the area out around where the blade closes, allowing more air by. The set screw will only work if it's adjusted up some. Mine from the factory wasn't screwed in enough to affect the idle.

throttle blade to 15/64" to get my hotcam
to idle good.. then I added .022" spacer
on top of the stock setting of idle set screw.
I did not want to ajust it, with fear of never
getting it correct again. For me it is easier
to fab diffrent thickness of spacers to see
the results then be able to return to stock
just as easy. Gives me a place to return to
a known value..
