Default MAF(98-02) same?

Will a 2002 stock maf work on a 98' or will I have to stick with a 98, trying to buy a used one.

Shouldn't be a problem. I think they're the same. Most guys who still run MAFS on their Grand Nationals/T-Types convert to LS1 MAFS. I don't think MAFS are year specific, aftermarket ones don't specify so you should be fine.
