Sanity check on header install list?
Sanity check on header install list? Hi folks,
About to order the stuff for a long tube install, and have the following prepared. Anything I'm missing?
1. Order GMMG exhaust (check! on the way
)
2. Order Pacesetter race-style headers
3. Order TSP Catted Y Pipe
4. Grab Bosch 13111 vette rear O2's for my front O2's (or should I use Delco?)
5. Buy O2 simms for the rear O2's
6. Re-use stock header bolts
7. Re-use stock header gasket
8. Uninstall the rest of the AIR system.
This should cover me, right?

Add a change to that: Should I bother with O2 simms since I'm going to throw a code for no AIR anyway? Then, whenever I get those AIR codes tuned out, I could go ahead and get the rear O2's deleted from the program?

Yes, I wouldn't get rear O2 sims. Just get them tuned out along with the AIR codes. Much easier and cheaper.
Also, I would buy new gaskets and ARP header bolts. You could get away with not, but it isn't that much money and cheap insurance imo.

Cool, I'll throw ARP header bolts on the list. Do these things need to go in with any locktite? I hadn't planned on using a torque wrench, but should I?
Also, I'm still not sure of the answer to this question - pretty much ANY check engine light throws the computer into open loop, right? Does this really effect performance on LS1's? In other words, are these codes something I should tune out before some shakedowns at the track?

get the arp studs, so you can hang the header on them from below, great if your doing it by yourself, I used antiseize on these, but I am getting heads soon so I wanted to reuse my 80 dollar studs.
