Default Installed Headers... doesnt feel the same?

I installed Hooker L/Ts with the Hooker O/R pipe, changed the plugs to NGK TR55, and Taylor 8mm wires. I raced a 2002 Ram Air with the stock manifold, plugs, and wires and we were even. I raced him tonight with the new setup and still have the same results, normal? Im thinking my setup might be rich but im not sure. Anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks

A/F changes a lot when you get the gases out quicker and you have no cats. plus, theres SOOOOOOO many variables in racing another car. rely on your butt or a dyno. after all, thats what dyno's are for....tuning and testing.

Yeah, I will bet you are running pig rich and that makes for a sluggish engine. Atap it and shoot for .880-.900s. You will feel the difference. Good luck!

No, atap can only tell you what your o2s are doing. You will not be able to program the PCM with it.

Might want to think about getting LS1 Edit or MAFT, you can lean the car out with those. MAFT is cheaper at ~$170 but not as flexiable for your tuning needs. Some of the older MAFT's like mine don't work as well with aftermarket MAF's as they do with the stock descreened MAF.

Also if you have a HPP3, you might load the programming, this could lean the car out too, but I think the HPP3 would only affect WOT.

good luck.
