is it normal for a new engine to run hot??

is it normal for a new engine to run hot?? i just finished putting in my new 6.0 and i noticed that the car runs hot after driving. it holds it's temp. at idle , but if i turn the A/C on it warms up at idle and stays at that temp even after turning the A/C off.i have an ATI kit and fans are working.
is this normal on a new engine???
what should i check??

Re: is it normal for a new engine to run hot?? at idle with no A/C it stays at 200 , just where i have the fans set up to go on. but when i put the A/C on or if i drive during the day it goes up to 230~240 and if i let it idle with the A/C off after that , it never goes under 220 and takes it's time to go down to that temp.
